Traps and other Consumables

ITEX (or in-tube extraction) enables the quick, simple and efficient extraction of volatile and semi-volatile compounds. An ITEX syringe like 227-35385-01 (compatible with AOC-6000 systems) and an ITEX trap are needed.

Standard recommendation:

980-21040 – for standard applications  

Sample tubes filled with an adsorbent are needed for gaseous and liquid samples with Thermal Desorption units. For solid samples empty tubes are available. Especially when analyzing samples with smaller particles, it is recommended to pack the sample in a “sandwich” of quartz wool.

For each sample tube, two caps including two PTFE coated O-rings are needed. Furthermore, two PTFE coated o-rings and a Kalrez o-ring are needed for the instrument. For convenience, all necessary P/Ns can be bought in a kit:

Because desorption from the sample tube needs some time, a re-focusing step is needed in order to obtain sharp peaks. Therefore, a cooled trap tube filled with packing material similar to that of the sample tube is used. A ferrule and a sleeve set are needed to install the trap tube.
